Time to Think

Sometimes as I go through life it seems as though life is foggy. You try to see what God wants you to do with the time, talents, and assets he has placed in your care.
Life seems as foggy as the other morning when I was making the rounds on country roads. Sometimes one needs to get away from the daily tasks and routines to get a clearer glimpse of life. We went to Dordt College's Day of Encouragement last weekend. It was an uplifting experience to spend the day with fellow Christians who were looking for ways to build up their spiritual lives and their churches.
In the evening we attended a concert by the Getty's with two of our sons and some of their friends.
It is a wonderful feeling to see young people praising God from their hearts as they sang along with the Getty's. I could look over the crowd and see young and, shall we say, more mature people like me praising God with all their might.
Spending time with teenagers and talking to them about God and their spiritual life can rejuvenate your own life. I have had the opportunity to talk to several men in their twenties this past week about their walk with God. It has been exciting to see and hear how important God is to them. Sometimes we do not talk about the things of life which matter most. I would encourage everyone to talk to the youth you know about faith. Their vibrancy and love of God can amaze you. It might even clear a little of the fog to allow you to see God.
